ABC Therapy in Boulder, CO

Hi, I'm Dr. Amy here at Boulder Canyon Dental. We get a lot of questions about ABC therapy and what it can do for you, so today I wanted to take some time to answer a lot of those common questions and give you a better understanding of what ABC is and what it can accomplish.

What is ABC?

We all have healing cells within our plasma. By completing a small blood draw through phlebotomy in our office, we're able to separate those healing cells and actually stimulate natural collagen formation. We can separate this into a plasma layer in order to target certain areas of concern to stimulate the healing process and new collagen formation.

What is an ABC facial?

During an ABC facial, we're utilizing dermal rolling to open up the skin's pores, followed by applying that plasma layer just like a skin moisturizer to stimulate new collagen growth.

Can you do anything else with ABC?

ABC isn't just a tool to achieve that youthful glow. If you have a specific area such as a deep scar you hate looking at or deeper lines and wrinkles, we're able to target those areas and stimulate that new collagen growth with your own cells. This is done by injecting that plasma layer directly into those areas of concern in order to stimulate the body's natural healing process. We can also utilize your cells to create natural fillers, so if you've been toying with the idea of maybe fuller lips, fuller cheeks, or just enhancing your natural look, biologic filler is a great tool to use without a big commitment and also no downtime because there is no reaction as we're using your own cells.

Is there any lasting benefit to ABC?

The best thing about ABC is there's a lasting benefit. Coming in for one facial is not just a day that you're going to glow; it's followed by weeks to months of new collagen formation in those areas to really turn back the clock and slow the aging process.

How often should I do ABC treatment?

I recommend completing ABC treatments in groups of four. That means you're coming in to see me once a week for four weeks to target these areas and stimulate that new collagen formation once per year.

What is the downtime after ABC treatment?

Immediately following a PRP treatment, you're going to look like you had a bad sunburn, so it is important for the next 12 hours you really stay out of the sun and utilize SPF minimum of 30 over the next few days while that skin is turning over. By the next morning, you utilize a gentle cleanser and moisturizer, and you're good to go about your daily activities.

How much does an ABC treatment cost?

ABC treatment cost is completely dependent upon the areas that we're working on. It could range anywhere from $350 to $600 per treatment.
